Sasha Banks & Naomi Reportedly Walk Of Tonight’s RAW, WWE Issues Statement

Banks and Naomi left their titles and left the building.

When tonight’s Monday Night RAW started it was noted how the main event would be a number one contender six-pack challenge to see who will challenge Bianca Belair next for the RAW Women’s Championship. The match was supposed to feature Becky Lynch, Asuka, Doudrop, Nikki A.S.H., Sasha Banks, and Naomi, yet because the latter Banks and Naomi did not like this plan they walked out before the show started.

First reported by Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Johnson reported that prior to tonight’s show Sasha Banks apparently was not happy regarding her creative for tonight’s RAW and had a meeting with Vince McMahon himself about it. It was noted that McMahon would not budge regarding the plans for tonight’s show and when Banks realized this she left the building during the broadcast along with her tag team partner Naomi.

Now Naomi walking out along with Banks is very interesting as according to a report from Fightful, Naomi was actually slated to be winning the match tonight. That would have meant Noami was going to move on to Hell In A Cell to challenge Bianca Belair for the RAW Women’s Championship.

It was noted that the match becoming a singles match with just Becky Lynch and Asuka was a last-minute decision after the original match was announced at the top of RAW. Throughout the show, it was only stated by commentary that Banks and Naomi had left the building but no other details were given. Yet WWE did release the following statement to Fightful regarding the situation.

When Sasha Banks and Naomi arrived at the arena this afternoon, they were informed of their participation in the main event of tonight’s Monday Night Raw.

During the broadcast, they walked into WWE Head of Talent Relations John Laurinaitis’ office with their suitcases in hand, placed their tag team championship belts on his desk and walked out.

They claimed they weren’t respected enough as tag team champions. And even though they had eight hours to rehearse and construct their match, they claimed they were uncomfortable in the ring with two of their opponents – even though they’d had matches with those individuals in the past with no consequence.

Monday Night Raw is a scripted live TV show, whose characters are expected to perform the requirements of their contract.

We regret we were unable to deliver, as advertised, tonight’s main event.

It is unclear what will come of all of this and if any repercussions will come to Banks and Naomi handing the tag team titles to John Laurinaitis and leaving the building with their suitcases in hand.

If we do hear anything else on this very interesting situation, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
