WWE is loading up on talent for WrestleMania week.

WrestleMania and the week surrounding it are always all hands on deck for WWE. Everyone in the company is brought in and used in many different ways. Now it looks like they are also bringing in former talent to be in Tampa this April.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Johnson reports that a number of former WWE superstars have been booked for WrestleMania week by WWE.

The names being reported are Cameron, Brodus Clay, Santino Marella, JBL, Hornswoggle, and Darren Young. It is unknown what each of these talents will be doing over the week-long series of events.

Cameron was last with the company back in 2016 and then seemingly retired from pro wrestling. It was then recently announced that she would be getting back in the ring for the upcoming Effy’s Big Gay Brunch during WrestleMania week.

Brodus Clay left WWE back in 2014 and then went to TNA as Tyrus. Clay now works for FOX News on their FOX Nation streaming platform.

Santino Marella left WWE and seemed to have retired from the ring back in 2014 after suffering his third neck injury that required surgery. Santino started his own training school, Battle Arts Academy since leaving WWE and has made appearances for the company since, most recent at the 2020 Royal Rumble as Santina Marella in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.

JBL as we all know retired back in 2009 after losing to Rey Mysterio at WrestleMania 25. He then returned to the company in 2012 and became the third man on commentary for RAW alongside Michael Cole and Jerry Lawler. After being moved to Smackdown on commentary in 2016 he remained with the company for another year or so before officially leaving WWE. It has also been reported that JBL will likely be inducted into the WWE Hall Of Fame this year.

Hornswoggle may be the most popular little man wrestler of his generation starting with WWE in 2006 and lasting for nearly a decade before being released in 2016. Hornswoggle then went on to work for a number of indie promotions including IMPACT and Ring of Honor. He has made appearances for WWE here and there since his release in 2016 most recently appearing on WWE’s The Bump this morning, Wednesday, February 19.

Darren Young was with the WWE for over a decade most notably as a tag team with Titus O’Neil and being part of the Nexus group. Young was released from the company back in October of 2017. He has not done much of anything in wrestling since. His most notable appearance was teaming with fellow Nexus members Michael Tarver and Justin Gabriel for the 2018 King Of Trios tournament for Chikara.

Again it is unclear what any of these talents could be doing for the company over WrestleMania week. The two things that seem most likely are either be used for autograph signings at WrestleMania AXXESS. Or they could be surprises in the WrestleMania battle royals.
