WWE Releases Statement Regarding WrestleMania 36, Says They Have A Backup Plan

March 12, 2020 8 By Tim Jarrell

As of Thursday afternoon, WrestleMania is moving on as scheduled… for now.

Thursday officials in Florida stated that at this time they will not force WWE to cancel WrestleMania but will meet on the matter again in seven days. WWE then released a statement to CBS Sports regarding the status of WrestleMania.

“While we remain committed to hosting WrestleMania at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday, April 5, we are putting contingency plans in place in the event that it is cancelled by government officials, civil authorities and/or local venues. The health and safety of our fans, performers and employees are our top priorities and we are monitoring the situation closely with our partners and government officials in Tampa Bay.”

It is not known at this time what WWE’s contingency plan is and how a WrestleMania not in Raymond James Stadium would be if they still run it on April 5th somewhere else.

If we do hear anything else on WrestleMania and when it where it will take place we will keep you updated.
