WWE Announces Release Of Another Smackdown Superstar

February 4, 2021 0 By Tim Jarrell

WWE has released for superstar on the Smackdown roster.

Earlier this week we learned that a month ago WWE had released Lars Sullivan from the company but never actually announced the departure. Even after the news got out, WWE has still to publically confirm the departure. He is also still listed as being on Smackdown. Today though, WWE has announced the release of another superstar on the Smackdown roster.

Thursday afternoon WWE announced that they have released Steve Cutler from the company. Cutler was at one point part of The Forgotten Sons group and spent most of his time with WWE in NXT. Most recently he and Wesley Blake had been placed with King Corbin as “The Knights of the Lone Wolf” which only lasted for a few weeks before they stopped appearing on TV.

Real name Thomas “Tommy” Maclin, Maclin started with WWE back in 2014 and debut on NXT in June of that year. He did not do much on the brand till 2016 when he was placed with Wesley Blake as a tag team and they create The Forgotten Sons also adding Jaxson Ryker to the group. The group was then brought to the main roster on Smackdown after WrestleMania in 2020 and was slated to get a significant push on the blue brand. After some controversial Tweets from Jaxson Ryker, the group was pulled from TV for many months before they returned to television back in December.

As of right now, we do not know what lead to the release of Maclin. We do not know if he asked for his release or if this was just a move made by WWE themselves. If we do hear anything else on the release of Steve Cutler, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
