Championship Death Match Announced for Wrestle Kingdom 14 (VIDEO)

Tonight the IWGP United States Title match was set for WrestleKingdom 14.

During tonights World Tag League Finals Jon Moxley appeared and challenged Lance Archer to a match to try and win back the title he never lost.

Moxley would come out of the crowd after a match with Archer and Minoru Suzuki to confront the current United States Champion. Moxley would end up hitting both men with the Paradigm Shift DDT before grabbing a mic.

Moxley would then say that he wanted his belt back and he will get it back. Moxley would them proceed to state that this match will happen at Wrestle Kingdom in a Texas deathmatch.

From here Moxley would try to put Archer through a table but Archer fought him off and the two brawled around ringside. Archer would then throw a guardrail at Moxley and Moxley would do the same to Archer. Finally, the two ended up brawling to the back.

If you don’t remember, Moxley never lost the IWGP United States Title, but rather was stripped of the belt after missing his scheduled defense on October 14. Moxley was supposed to defend the title that night against Juice Robinson and when a typhoon put a damper on many travel plans in Japan Archer replaced Moxley in the match for the vacant title and won the belt.
