Possible Smackdown Women’s Title Match For WrestleMania

More WrestleMania matches are coming together.

At this point, only two matches have officially been announced for this year’s WrestleMania. Drew McIntyre will challenge Brock Lesnar for the WWE Championship, plus Charlotte Flair will challenge Rhea Ripley for the NXT Women’s Championship. Other matches have also been reported and rumored like Edge versus Randy Orton and The Undertaker versus AJ Styles.

According to Bryan Alvarez on Tuesday’s Wrestling Observer Live, Alvarez stated that at this moment Naomi is set the challenge Bayley for the Smackdown Women’s Championship on the grandest stage of the year. How they get to that match would actually be pretty interesting.

This Friday Naomi will take on Carmella with the winner challenging for the title at Super Showdown in Saudi Arabia. If Naomi wins then how do they justify her getting a title shot at WrestleMania. Also if she loses to Carmella this week then why would people care to see her challenge at WrestleMania if she gets beat in a big match here.

The only ways to make this work is either the Super Showdown match ends up a three-way and Bayley steals the win from Naomi. Another way would be a match with all the women on Smackdown in a multi-women match where Naomi could come out the number one contender. Yet that would be pretty underwhelming if Naomi like we said, loses to Carmella this week or even faces a loses to Bayley at Super Showdown.
