Multiple Teams Announced For Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic, First Match Announced

The Women’s Dusty Cup is here.

Last week WWE announced that this year they will hold the first-ever Women’s Dusty Rhodes Tag Team Classic. Tonight on NXT, we got more information on the tournament as the first teams and match was announced.

During tonight’s NXT we saw the first team formed for the Women’s Dusty Classic. Shotazi Blackheart stated that she wanted in the tournament, but needed a partner. She had a partner in mind and wanted someone she went to war with. Up would then come Ember Moon who would agree to team with Blackheart.

Tonight four teams were announced for the tournament.

– Shotzi Blackheart & Ember Moon
– Candice LeRae & Indi Hartwell
– Toni Storm & Mercedes Martinez
– Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter

They did not state how many teams will be in the tournament. Then men’s tournament has 16 teams, but there are not even 16 currently active women on the NXT roster right now.

As far as the first match of the tournament, that will take place next week when Kacy Catanzaro & Kayden Carter take on the team of Toni Storm & Mercedes Martinez.
