Jon Moxley Appears At Wrestle Kingdom 15 Night One With The US Title

The Boogeyman is here in New Japan.

Jon Moxley is the IWGP United States Champion and defended the title only three times in 2020. Due to the pandemic and COVID-19 Moxley was not able to wrestle for New Japan wrestling essentially putting the title on ice. Yet tonight, Moxley appeared for the first time in New Japan since February of 2020.

During night one of NJPW Wrestle Kingdom 15, Moxley appeared in a pre-taped promo from the New Japan LA Dojo with the title saying he is coming after whoever has the briefcase and wants the next title shot at his title.

Moxley last wrestled for New Japan Pro Wrestling back on February 9th, 2020 when he defended the IWGP United States Championship against Minoru Suzuki. It is unclear when Moxley can defend that title next as his contract with AEW and obligations to that company comes first. If Moxley was to fly to Japan to defend the title he would essentially miss at least a month from AEW due to COVID quarantine regulations. Also, his contract with AEW does not allow him to appear on any taped non-AEW shows in the United States, which hinders the possibility of him defending the title on NJPW Strong.

If we hear anything else regarding Moxley’s appearance here and what it could mean for his next title defense, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
