First Match Announced For The AEW Women’s Title Eliminator

January 27, 2021 0 By Tim Jarrell

The first two names have been named.

A few weeks ago All Elite Wrestling announced a Women’s World Championship Eliminator Tournament. If this is the same as the Men’s Tournament then the winner will get a shot at the Women’s Champion Hikaru Sida. Tonight they announced the first match in the tournament.

During tonight’s Dynamite, AEW did announce that the NWA Women’s World Champion Serena Deeb will go one-on-one with the first-ever AEW Women’s Champion Riho. This will be Riho’s first match in AEW since March 18, 2020. AEW did not state when this match will actually take place. One interesting thing was that they stated this match is on the US side of the brackets.

As far as it looking like there will be a US side of the brackets and a Japan side of the brackets that has to get people thinking. Could some of the matches in this tournament take place in Japan? Then the winner of the Japan side flies to America to take on the winner of the US side?

If we do get any more detail on this tournament as far as more names and logistics. We will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
