Amanda Huber Details The Timeline Of Brodie Lee’s Illness & Passing

We now know everything that went down with the passing of Mr. Brodie Lee.

On December 26th we got the unfortunate news that Jon Huber, Mr. Brodie Lee, had passed away from a lung issue. Many questions had been asked since his passing and many inaccurate details had come up. Amanda Huber, the wife of Brodie Lee had tried to shoot some of the stuff down and now she has laid it all out.

Amanda Huber appeared in the latest AEW Unrestricted to give a full detailed description of the timeline as far as when Brodie first got sick to the time of his passing.

• Monday
  • Before filming his episode of the AEW Restriction podcast, Brodie did a Peloton ride but ended the ride early which he had never done before. He said he could not catch his breath and that Amanda thought it could have been COVID-19. Amanda took his temperature as well as his senses as far as taste and smell. All of that seemed normal.
• Tuesday
  • The next day Brodie tried to do another Peloton ride with the exact result of him not being able to finish the ride.
• Wednesday
  • Brodie went to Jacksonville for the AEW tapings and was still not feeling well. He tested negative for COVID-19 but things seemed off. With that, DOC Sampson told Brodie that he would not clear him to enter the AEW bubble and to go home and get better so Brodie went back home. When Brodie got home they still felt it could have been COVID so he quarantined in his room away from the rest of the family.
• Friday
  • Brodie was not getting better so Amanda took him to the local Tampa Urgent Care. There he was diagnosed with Bronchitis and dealing with allergies. Brodie felt it was not Bronchitis and maybe more of pneumonia. He was sent home and prescribed an oral antibiotic, oral steroid, and some allergy medication.
• Sunday
  • Brodie started to get worse and his face started to look sunken in. Amanda again took Brodie to the hospital once again. While entering the hospital Brodie needed Amanda to help him walk. She told him he needed a wheelchair, Brodie refused but Amanda told him he is fell she could not help him.
  • Once they got brought to the back they checked Brodie’s oxygen and tested him with multiple machines because his oxygen levels were so low they thought the machines were broken. Brodie’s oxygen was level was 52. She stated that a normal person will read at 100, and even a person having issues with asthma read at 85. Brodie was rushed in and placed on oxygen. Everyone in the hospital thought it was COVID even though he was still testing negative. He had tested negative three times.
• Wednesday
  • Brodie was moved to the ICU. One nurse stated that they wanted to do this so they could keep a better eye on Brodie as where he was in the hospital there were more patients than nurses. In the ICU it was a 2 to 1 ratio where they can keep a closer eye on him.
• Friday (Night Before Halloween)
  • Doctors stated that Brodie needed more treatment and needed to be transferred to a bigger hospital with only two as the option. They waited to either send him to Gainsville or the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville. Since they knew people in Jacksonville Amanda took Jacksonville and the Mayo Clinic.
  • Amanda was talking with Brodie about Brodie Jr wanting to be Orange Cassidy for Halloween. Amanda had told Brodie Jr no because no one would know who Orange Cassidy was when he went trick or treating. As she told that to Brodie, she stated one of the last things he ever said was “Go buy him a fucking jacket.” Amanda did so and then also created Nolan his costume to look like Mr. Brodie Lee.
  • While she was at home she got a call that Brodie has “crashed and was intubated.” When she got back to the hospital, Amanda stated his room was trashed and he had a feeding tube down his throat. She stated it was “horrified to see.” As they got things ready to transfer him to Jacksonville she had to sit in a conference room and wait. They then finally left for Jacksonville around 1am.
• Saturday (Halloween)
  • At the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville Brodie was placed on ECMO which is described as dialysis for the lungs. Amanda stated starting then she got a hotel room in Jacksonville and AEW insisted that they cover the cost of her hotel room. She said she did not want them to do so but they were so insistent on it.
• Monday (November 9th)
  • The thought of a lung transplant was first brought up and Amanda signed the paperwork to start the process. On that day Amanda spoke with the AEW roster about what was going on. She was at the show and was asked if there was anything she did not want said to the roster and staff in AEW. She all she asked was that no one let this information leak out and to keep it private. She stated that she even agreed to speak to everyone herself so they can see how serious this is and maybe “guilt” them into not leaking anything out. She stated that since then she always checked the internet to see if any of this got out. Aubrey said she would also do the same.
• Monday (November 14 – Amanda’s Birthday)
  • Amanda stated that the nurses at the Mayo Clinic who she was starting to get close with actually surprised her with a banner and a cake for her birthday.
• End of November
  • Brodie started to show signs of actually getting better. They had performed a tracheotomy on Brodie so he could be removed from a ventilator. At this point, he was awake but non-verbal. He was able to communicate by mouthing words and smiling. He even started physical therapy and things looked to be getting better.  Yet while on oxygen he suffered a panic attack and that is when he took a turn for the worse and never actually got better.
• Early-Mid December
  • Brodie was getting worse and worse and they told her they had two options. A lung transplant or they get him ready for end of life care. Amanda said what does it mean if we get the transplant. She said for Brodie it would have been completely life-changing. He would be extremely immune-compromised and never be able to wrestle again. She had then started the process for the transplant so Amanda went home for one day. When she got back to Jacksonville she was told he developed an infection in his lungs and because he was in such bad shape anything was making him worse.
• December 16 (Brodie Birthday)
  • Chris Jericho had told Amanda if she needed anything to let him know. Amanda asked Brodie Jr what he wanted Christmas outside of dad coming home and he asked to go to the AEW show. Jericho flew Brodie Jr down on his private plane so he could be at the show.
  • At that same time, they were waiting to see what was going on with the transplant and she had not heard anything. When she got back to the hospital she was told it was not going to happen. Yet one doctor stated that even if they have to send Brodie to another hospital they wanted to know that the transplant was 100% not an option at all. They did not want him to pass know they did not try everything they could.
• December 24 (Christmas Eve)
  • Amanda told hospital that she was going home from Christmas and to not call her with bad news and she will call once a day for an update. She then received a call from a doctor, the one doctor she did not like, and he stated that she needed to be there because it was time for end of life and to get him ready. She stated that she told him she was not coming back to Jacksonville. The doctor then told her as the doctor stated his kidneys and heart was failing. the doctor stated they did not want her to not be there when he passed and she said she knew that was a risk she was taking.
• December 25 (Christmas)
  • Amanda got things together for family to be in the kids as she went to Jacksonville knowing what was to come. She stated that then she also made two calls for Brodie Jr. she called Big E who is Brodie Jr like Brodie Jr’s best friend in the entire world since he was like two-years-old as well as Cody Rhodes. She wanted those two to be with her when she had to tell Brodie that his father was going to pass that day. She said having Cody there he in a way would be able to connect with Brodie Jr as he also had a father that was a famous larger than life figure pass away.
• December 26 (Brodie’s passing)
  • That day she called Shawn Spears and Tyler Breeze to let them know that Brodie would pass that day, along with Spears’ wife Peyton Royce immediately got in the car and drove to Jacksonville to see him before he passed. On that day she was there with Cody, Big E, Shawn Spears, Cassie(Peyton Royce), Tyler Breeze, Margaret & Megha (AEW PR/Legal Team) all came to the hospital to see Brodie before he passed.
  • She stated after they all arrived, she, Cody, and Bog took Brodie Jr back to the hotel to explain to him what has happened.
  • Amanda also stated that there is still no real cause of death. They stated it was “idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis” Basically scarring of the lungs with not fully knowing what actually caused it.
• December 30 (Brodie Lee Celebration of Life)
  • Amanda stated that due to COVID they did not have a funeral for Brodie. She said that really, the special Dynamite was considered his funeral and that she was able to goodbye during that night. She would also go on to state that the night before she was asked if she wanted to see the tribute video that aired at the end of the show and she said no. When she saw it for the first time was when she was in the ring at the end of the show. As far as the video she said she told the person who put the video together, “It was perfect, it was beautiful. Go fuck yourself.” She said this in a good way.

Multiple times during the podcast they did state that no one actually asked her to come on the podcast and that this was something she wanted to do to get everything out there. She also pitched the idea of doing a second episode where she could come one and just tell good and funny stories about Brodie.

The podcast itself is a great listen to but towards the end, especially when she talked about asking Big E and Cody to be there with her to tell Bordie Jr that his father has passed away does get hard to listen to. If you want to listen to the podcast yourself you can do so here.
