Dexter Lumis is unable to compete for the North American Title.

Last week Dexter Lumis was successful in a triple threat match punching his ticket to NXT TakeOver XXX and a shot to fight for the vacant NXT North American title. Yet the next day WWE announced that he suffered some sort of an ankle injury in the match. This morning they then announced that the injury was worse than expected and his status for TakeOver was in question.

Tonight on NXT, NXT General Manager William Regal announced that the injury will keep Lumis out of the ladder match at TakeOver as he will not be able to be cleared to compete in time. regal would then go on to state that with a spot opening up in the match, both Johnny Gargano and Finn Balor helped him in figuring out how to determine the final two competitors for the match and Lumis’ replace meant.

After next week they would have held four fatal-four-way qualifiers qualifying three men for the ladder match. Then the four men who were not pinned in their triple threat matches will get one more shot to make it into the match at TakeOver. Those four men will battle in two singles matches for the final two spots on August 19th just a few days before TakeOver.

Next Week’s triple that qualifier will feature Kushida, Cameron Grimes, and a mystery opponent not yet named.
