Argument Between Mustafa Ali & Vince McMahon Led To Time Off & Release Request

It looks like Ali knows his worth and was not afraid to voice it.

This morning Mustafa Ali took to social media and revealed that he had requested his release from WWE. He stated that he has a message he wants to deliver but can not do so while in WWE. Ali has not worked a match since October and has not been seen on TV since November and now we may know why.

According to a new report from Fightful, that report that Ali being off TV since November could have been caused by an argument he had with Vince McMahon. Back in November Ali was given time off due to his wife having a baby and he had actually only asked for a week off. This lead to almost two months now off as he has been available to return since the first week of December. Also, new vignettes were filmed for Ali with a “New America” gimmick but since Ali has not had anything new pitched to him.

The report states that Vince McMahon himself pitched “something Mustafa Ali would never have done,” and it lead to a heated argument between the two. This seems to have been the last time Ali has been seen backstage. They go on to state that some in the company were even surprised Ali was not backstage when the company was in Chicago where Ali lives.

One higher up stated that WWE has grated release requests as of late because it would be hard to justify not doing so after so many “budget cuts” releases as of late. It is also thought that Ali not being on TV or even backstage for that matter was seen as a punishment. Ali is said to be well-liked within WWE with numerous talents having a desire to with him when he was moved over to Smackdown in the draft.

If we do hear anything else regarding Ali’s release request, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
