Another AEW Reveals They Are Not Cleared To Compete

An old injury has taken a current wrestler out.

In the world of sports, many people have injuries that become lingering injuries for the rest of their careers. Some or small that flare up every so often and it does not affect them much if at all. Others have injuries that can take them out of the game and that is what has happened to one AEW wrestler.

While speaking with the Elite POV podcast, Tay Melo actually revealed that she is currently not cleared to compete at this time. She noted how she has a protrusion in her back and has actually been dealing it with it for more than 10 years at this point and it started bothering her before her last match.

“I have a protrusion on my back, so it’s something that I’ve been dealing with for more than 10 years by now. I know how to go about it. Before the match, I started feeling it a little bit, and the doctors in AEW, they’re super good. I told them, they helped me see if it was okay to do it. They asked me, and I was like, ‘I’m gonna do it. Let’s go.’ I’ll never say no, let me tell you, unless I’m really dying. I was like, I’m in pain, I knew I was in pain. The day before, let me tell you, I couldn’t walk. I couldn’t walk. At the airport, the walk was so long, we had to get a wheelchair for me because I was not able to walk for too long. It was really bad.”

The last match she worked was the Street Fight where she teamed with Ana Jay against Ruby Soho and Willow Nightengale. It is unclear how long Melo will be kept out of action due to this but it does seem like it is something she has to take with some sense of seriousness. It was also revealed recently that Ana Jay was injured in that match suffering dislocated ribs.
