AEW Teases Breaking Up Popular Tag Team

Could a very long-term team be splitting up in AEW?

One of the first signings to AEW when they formed in 2019 was SCU, Christopher Daniels, Franki Kazarian, and Scorpio Sky. The trio had been a very popular act in Ring Of Honor and on the indies and only grew in popularity when AEW started. Over the last year, we have seen Sky branch off and do less and less with the team and now it looks like the team itself could be ending all together.

During tonight’s AEW Dark, Daniels and Kazarian were the guests on Brit Baker’s Waiting Room and Frankie Kazarian spelled it all out for his long-time friend Christopher Daniels. Kazarian stated that the next time they lose as a team, they will be done as a tag team, forever.

“I know you better than anybody, CD, and if there’s one thing I know that you are and that’s a fighter. When your back is against the wall you will fight. When the pressure is on you will fight. So I am asking you one more time to fight, by my side. These are drastic times, CD, so I’m going to throw out some drastic measures, and I need you to agree with this. Right now, we are at the bottom of the barrel of the tag division. We will fight, we will claw, we will work our way to the top and we will become AEW Tag Team Champions. From here on out, the next team you and I lose and a tag team, you and I are done as a tag team, forever.”

SCU were the first every AEW World Tag Team Champions but that was mainly with the combination of Frankie Kazarian and Scorpio Sky. The duo would lose the tag team title to Kenny Omega and Hangman Page earlier this year during the special edition of AEW Dynamite that took place from the Jericho cruise.
