*UPDATE* WWE Superstar Released From The Company
December 8, 2019Right now it is rare WWE releases anyone not causing trouble, but one former NXT Tag Team Champion says he has been granted his release.
About a month ago Jorge Arias, known by most as Sin Cara, took to social media to reveal that he had asked for his release from WWE. He did so in a lengthy Twitter post talking about how he finally knows that he is worth far more then he is being used and he knows he is in a place where that can not be realized.
Today Sin Cara took to Twitter to announce that the release he asked for has been granted.
As of today I have been granted my release from WWE.
Thank you WWE Universe it has been an amazing adventure. ππΌ pic.twitter.com/JLUJoJPBmR— CintaDeOro (@CintaDeOro) December 8, 2019
At this time it is unclear where Arias could go next. One would assume per the agreement of his release there would be a 90-day no-compete clause attached to it. Also outside of WWE, he would not be able to use the Sin Cara name as that name was created and owned by WWE. Arias was not even the first wrestler to use the name/gimmick in the company.
It was noted recently that Arias has shown some interest in trying MMA and he did walk Alberto El Patron down to the cage last night for his match with Tito Ortiz. Maybe with Alberto’s relationship with Combate Americas, we could possibly see him try his hand at MMA there one day.
– UPDATE 12/8 @ 12:00pm –
WWE has released the following statement confirming the release of Sin Cara.
“WWE has come to terms on the release of Sin Cara. WWE wishes him all the best in his future endeavors.”

It is interesting that WWE only said “Sin Cara” and did not also add in his real name as they usually do with the well wishes posts.
