It looks like there are no plans to cancel WrestleMania.

Many big events around the world are being postponed or even canceled due to the Coronavirus outbreak. Over the last few days, it has been reported that there are two known cases of the virus in Tampa, Florida. Tampa is where WrestleMania is taking place this year and many fans have worried about what this could mean for WrestleMania.

WWE released a statement to ESPN on the matter stating that they have no plans to postpone, move or cancel WrestleMania. They continue to move on as scheduled.

“The health and safety of our fans, performers and employees are our top priorities and we are monitoring the situation closely with our partners and government officials in Tampa Bay,” the WWE said in a statement released to ESPN. “We remain committed to hosting WrestleMania at Raymond James Stadium on Sunday, April 5, and like other entertainment properties in the U.S., there are currently no plans to cancel or postpone our upcoming events.”

WWE will be hosting a number of events over WrestleMania week in the Tampa area. Not only will WWE have five shows plus WrestleMania AXXESS and community events, but a number of independent wrestling events will be going on as well. There is a chance that over the five or so day period 100,000 people will be flying in and out of Tampa from all around the world.

It is believed that the only way WWE will change any of there plans is if they are made to do so by a higher power like the mayor or governor siting a state of emergency in Tampa not allowing people to fly in and out of the city.
