WWE Being Investigated For Possible Multiple COVID Hot Spots

Orange County is investigating three WWE locations as COVID-19 hot spots.

When the pandemic hit and most businesses and sports leagues shut down the WWE remained in operations as they moved all production to their Performance Center in Orlando for the main roster and remained with NXT inside Full Sail University. Since August WWE has moved their main roster production to the Amway Center in Orlando and have also moved NXT from Full Sail to the Performance Center. WWE has had multiple people in the company test positive for COVID-19 and that has not sat well with Orange County officials.

According to WFTV9 ABC, they state that the Orange County Department of Health is asking their Strike Team to look into a list with 17 businesses in town where COVID-19 might have spread. On that list is WWE for three separate locations they have used for filming over the last six to seven months.

The three locations listed pertaining to WWE is WWE Full Sail, WWE Performance Center on Forsyth Commerce Road, and WWE Amway Arena. WWE provided a statement on this investigation to WFTV9 stating the following,

“WWE is not open to the public, but rather operating on a closed set with only essential personnel in attendance. As part of on-going weekly testing protocols, Aventus Labs have administered more than 10,000 PCR tests to WWE performers, employees, production staff and crew resulting in only 1.5 percent positive cases as compared to the current national average of more than 5%. Additionally, extensive contact tracing takes place and impacted individuals are placed in 14-day quarantine and then only cleared after they test negative.”

Other businesses on the list are Amazon for their Amazon distribution center, two Crunch Fitness locations, Starbound Performers dance studio among others.

If we do hear anything further on these investigations and what they can mean for WWE going forward, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
