Update On Drew McIntyre Neck Injury
January 11, 2022McIntyre getting checked out this week.
At WWE Day 1 we saw a backstage angle that was meant to “write off” Drew McIntyre. This was done as McIntyre had been dealing with a neck injury for years now and it has become to where he now needs to get it checked out. Last Friday on Smackdown, Michael Cole stated Drew was going to see a doctor on Monday and this did take place.
According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Johnson reports that McIntyre was spotted wearing a neck brace at the UPMC Presbyterian Hospital in Pittsburgh. Many WWE Superstars have gone here undergoing surgery and test as this is the office location of Dr. Joseph Maroon who works closely with WWE.
It is unclear how severe McIntyre’s injuries are as it is stated he has been dealing with “nagging injuries” for several weeks and neck issues for years now. There is no timetable for how long these issues could keep the former two-time WWE Champion out of action but it looks like he will miss the Royal Rumble as the company is hopeful he will be good to go for WrestleMania.
If we do hear anything else regarding McIntyre’s injury and time out, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
