Update On Cesaro’s Current WWE Status, Almost Given Big Spot On Smackdown

The Swiss Superman is not leaving WWE.

There have been some conflicting rumors and reports recently regarding the Current status of Cesaro in WWE. One report stated that his contract was set to be up this summer. Another had stated that he turned down multiple contract offers, but we now know some more clear info on his status.

According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer states that Cesaro has agreed to a new deal with WWE. No other details were given as far as if he has only verbally agreed or actually signed on the dotted line. It seems like this is something that has happened over the last few weeks.

Meltzer would also go on to state that Daniel Bryan, who works as part of the Smackdown creative team, wanted Cesaro to be in the gauntlet match spot that Shinsuke Nakamura was in. The report goes on to state that this idea of Cesaro being in such a prominent spot was shut down since he had to at the time agreed to sign a new deal and remain with the company.
