Top NXT Superstar Gets Extremely Controversial Name Change

January 18, 2022 0 By Tim Jarrell

NXT Superstar now named after Nazi Lieutenant.

Tuesday morning it was revealed that WWE had trademarked the name Gunther Stark. At the time of finding this out, it was unclear what this name was for. NXT already had Zoey Stark so some thought maybe it could be someone connected to her. Yet further looking into it, this name is way worse than you think.

A simple Google search for the name ‘Gunter Stark’ actually reveals that was the name of a Nazi military commander in World War II. Stark was actually a Captain Lieutenant for Hitler’s U-Boat command in the English Channel. Once this was found out by many fans it raised a lot of red flags, but it was still unknown who the name was for. At least that was till the end of NXT 2.0 tonight.

The main event of tonight’s NXT 2.0 saw a great match between WALTER and Roderick Strong with WALTER picking up the win. Yet after the match, WALTER would take the mic and say “The winner of this match is Gunther.” This confirms that the name is for WALTER, now going by the name Gunther Stark.

It is not known exactly why WWE needed to fully change WALTER’s name as he has been with the company under that name since January of 2019. It is also not known why the company would change his name to the exact same name as a former Nazi Lieutenant. There are so many questions here that need to be answered and we will have to wait and see if anyone actually answered them or not.

If we do hear anything else regarding WALTER now going by the name Gunther Stark, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
