Top New Japan Star Possibly Injury At Wrestle Kingdom

One New Japan star is lucky he gets night two off.

Last night was the first of two nights for Wrestle Kingdom 14 inside the legendary Tokyo Dome in Tokyo Japan. The show we said five title matches with four title changes. In one of those title matches, it looks like a wrestler who lost his title also walked away with any injury.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Johnson reports that former IWGP Jr Heavyweight Champion Will Ospreay may have suffered an ankle injury. The belief among several was that he suffered an ankle injury (possible broken heel) performing a Sasuke Special. Ospreay actually hit the move twice in a matter of 60 to 90 seconds. At this time it is unclear the severity of the injury and the injury has not been officially confirmed.

If Ospreay did suffer some sort of an injury, where he tweaked, twisted, or broke something the good news for him is that he is not listed for a match tonight on night two of Wrestle Kingdom. Many wrestlers that worked last night will also be working tonight and it was always odd that Ospreay was not booked for the 5th. Regardless Ospreay can heel up and just watch the action tonight as a fan.

If we do hear anything further on a possible ankle or heel injury to will Ospreay we will keep you updated here on the website or on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
