Reported Name & Date For First AEW Supercard Show On TNT

When All Elite Wrestling announced that Dynamite was moving from TNT to TBS in 2022 they announced new content for TNT. It was announced that starting in 2022 AEW will run four specials on TNT throughout the year that they described as supercard events. Now we may have details on the first one.
According to Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast, Zarian reports that AEW is set to run a special event on Saturday, January 8th, 2022. This would be the first of their four big TNT specials and is reported to be called “Battle Of The Belts”.

Battle of the belts was a name the NWA used back in the mid-1980s. The name was used most by Championship Wrestling From Florida. The event ran three times from 1985-1986. At each of the three events Ric Flair defended the NWA World Heavyweight Championship.
Regarding AEW using the name, AEW does own the name as they trademarked it back in January of this year.
