Opening Match Revealed For Tonight’s Rampage, Will Air Commercial Free

AEW is pulling out all the stops tonight with Rampage against Smackdown.

Last week it was announced that tonight’s Friday Night Smackdown will not only air on FS1, but it will air with a commercial-free extra 30 minutes at the end of the show. The extra 30 minutes will go up against the first half of AEW Rampage on TNT. As a counter, Tony Khan announced a one-hour pre-show for Rampage on the AEW YouTube channel, yet that is not all tony has announced for tonight.

Tony Khan announced Friday morning on Twitter that the match between CM Punk and Matt Sydal will open the main car for Rampage. Not only that, he announced that the match itself will air completely commercial-free. If we look at previous episodes of Rampage, the opening match usually get a good amount of time. This will be the second week in a row Punk will be opening Rampage. Last week Punk wrestled Daniel Garcia in a 14-minute match.

As far as tonight’s show as a whole goes, three matches have been announced for The Buy In with three matches on the main card.

 CM Punk vs. Matt Sydal
 Ruby Soho vs. The Bunny
Chris Jericho, Jake Hager & Sammy Guevara vs. Ethan Page, Scorpio Sky & Junior Dos Santos
– Buy In: Bryan Danielson vs. Minoru Suzuki
– Buy In: Bobby Fish vs. Lee Moriarty
– Buy In: Tay Conti vs. Santana Garrett
