NXT Superstar Undergoes Elbow Surgery

December 22, 2019 0 By Tim Jarrell

One NXT Superstar just can’t catch a break.

Back in the summer of 2018, Fandango suffered an injury to his left labrum that needed surgery. While he was out of action his tag team partner Tyler Breeze was moved to NXT and it was unclear if Breezango would remain a unit. Then roughly a year after suffering the injury Fandango returned to action on NXT assisting his long-time partner Breeze on July 31st. Unfortunately, Fandango has suffered another injury that required surgery.

Back on December 12th, WWE had their “NXT Injury Report” and stated that Fandango had suffered an elbow injury. The report was slightly overlooked since those reports from WWE are sometimes fact and sometimes storyline. Fandango himself thought confirmed the injury.

Saturday Fandango took to Instagram to report that he had to undergo what is called ‘Tommy John’ surgery which is the type of surgery athletes get after suffering an elbow injury. The injury and surgery are most common in baseball pitchers.

Fandango joked that his dream of being an MLB pitcher is over but did not give any details on the injury itself. It is unclear exactly how long Fandango could be out of action following the surgery as this is not a common injury in pro wrestlers. If you look at the recovery time for a baseball pitcher who has this surgery, they are typically out for a year. Hopefully, Fandango is not out that long and does not miss another year of action after just returning from a year off five months ago.
