NXT Star Possibly Injured Last Night, Taken To Hospital For Further Evaluation

One NXT star may have suffered a concussion last night.

Last night on NXT we saw a mixed tag team match where Mercedes Martinez and Jake Atlas took on Xia Li and Boa. The match was part of a standing feud between Martinez and Tian Sha, yet last night one person may have been injured,

During the mixed tag team match last night the match was ended by the referee after Martinez took a kick to the head from Xia Li. Li went for the pin but at that point, Martinez was already out of it with her arm up in the air so the ef did not count the pin. Martinez then pulled herself out of the ring and the ref checked on her before ending the match.

We were told and it was also noted by Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful that Martinez was checked on backstage after the match. It was then determined that she would be taken to a local hospital for evaluation. Even though by watching it, you can tell what may have happened but we were not told initially what they were concerned about and so did not make any assumptions. This morning we were told that Martinez was be treated for a possible concussion and has been placed under WWE’s concussion protocol.

It was not stated to us how bad they feel the possible concussion could be and with something like this it is hard to determine how long it could keep her out of action.
