New Japan Pro Wrestling Announces Big Show Lineup For 2020

January 5, 2020 0 By Tim Jarrell

During Wrestle Kingdom a number of big shows coming up were announced.

Every year during Wrestle Kingdon, New Japan plays a video package announced dates for most of their big show for the coming year and they did the same again this year. The big thing to come out of this announcement was that the G1 Climax tournament has been moved back a few months with the finals now in October. The reason for this is because the Olympics this year will be in Tokyo and they don’t want to run G1 at the same time.

The full lineup of shows announced was as followed,

  • February 1 & 2: The New Japan Beginning in Sapporo (Hokkaido Prefectural Sports Center)
  • February 9: The New Japan Beginning in Oasak (Oaska-jo Hall)
  • Match 3: 48th Anniversary Show (Ota City General Gymnasium)
  • Match 21: New Japan Cup 2020 Finals (Aore Nagaoka, Nigata)
  • March 31: Sakura Genesis 2020 (Ryogoku Sumo Hall)
  • April 29: Wrestling Satsuma no Kuni (Kagoshima Arena)
  • May 2 & 3: Wrestling Dontaku 2020 (Fukuoka International Center)
