Many top Mexican wrestlers could miss upcoming big shows.

A situation is arising right now where 19 wrestlers from CMLL are in danger of losing their US work visas and this could have a ripple effect on a number of events they are set to work in the near future. They are working to get this rectified but that could take months to get approved.

According to a report from Mike Johnson of PWInsider, he reports 19 luchadors including Volador Jr., Hechicero, Mascara Dorado, Blue Panther, Dulce Gardenia, El Sagrado, El Suicida, Electrico, Espiritu Negro, Euforia, Fugaz, Gemelo Diablo 1 and 2, Magico, Robin, Sangre Imperial, Soberano, Templario, and referee Sagaz are will be impacted as far as being allowed to work in the United States.

As far as the situation goes, CMLL was working with Texas independent promotion Full Blown Pro Wrestling to sponsor the visas of the CMLL wrestlers. The US Department of Homeland Security reportedly contacted the owner of Full Blown Pro Wrestling Jerry Cadena about the visa applications. He was informed of issues with the visas yet at this time it is not clear what the issues are. Homeland Security told Cadena that he could be accused of fraud if the issues caused the visa applications to be flagged.

CMLL was reportedly informed of the issues and decided they would take care of and handle this situation themselves. Communication between the two sides seems to have stopped and Cadena has informed Homeland Security that he is no longer working with CMLL and any talent agreements he had with them have been terminated today, February 28th.

The word going around is that CMLL will attempt to get the visas taken care of themselves with the US Embassy in Mexico as it was stated that someone in the company’s family member works for The Embassy. The big thing with all of this is many of the talent mentioned above are slated to work shows over WrestleMania weekend and the upcoming New Japan Pro Wrestling event in Chicago and if the issues are not taken care of they would have to be pulled.

If we do hear anything else on the visa issues with 19 CMLL wrestlers, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
