More Details On WWE Releases, Vaccination, Age & More

A number of factors played into the latest releases.

On Thursday WWE released 18 wrestlers from the company. Nine of them from NXT and nine from the main roster. With that, it is being reported that a number of different factors actually went into this round of releases.

It was reported last night by the New York Post that Nia Jax and possibly others were released for not being vaccinated. The number going around with that was four or five names. According to Dave Meltzer in the latest Wrestling Observer Newsletter, Meltzer reported that one source stated that the number was actually much larger than that. Yet every single person released was told it was due to budget cuts and no one was told being unvaccinated for the reason of release.

Also, it seems like age played a factor in some of the releases as well. It was said that some in the company feel like there are not enough 20-year-olds in the company and on television right now. WWE is looking to recruit people who are considered bigger, younger, and have more of a legit athletic background. It was also noted that when it comes to female talent, there may be a new directive to not sign any females over the age of 25.

If we do hear anything else on the 18 wrestlers released by WWE on Thursday, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
