Latest Update On Adam Cole’s Status With WWE

The former NXT Champion is free.

Over the last month, one of the biggest stories in pro wrestling was the future of Adam Cole. We heard that his contract came up around Great American Bash and he agreed to sign an extension to finish off the Kyle O’Reilly story. Word was then that the deal was up at the end of last week and now we have an update on his WWE contract.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Johnson reports that people within WWE were informed that Cole is no longer with the company. Johnson stated that Monday morning WWE issued a memo via email that Adam Cole was no longer with the company. Now the question is what is next for the longest-reigning NXT Champion.

Cole is said to have options in what he can do next. He has met with Vince McMahon and others about getting him to sign a new deal to stay with the company and it is fully expected that Cole will be offered a deal from AEW. The big question is who will he sign with. With he re-sign with WWE or go somewhere else like AEW.
