EXCLUSIVE: Details On WWE Bringing In Extra “Fans” To Be In The Crowd, Info From Someone At Monday’s Tapings

It looks like WWE has been pretty relaxed when it comes to extras being at their tapings this week.

When Monday Night RAW started this week, it was noticed that more than just the Performance Center trainees and NXT Superstars were being used as the “fans in the crowd.” Word started to trickle out not long before RAW went on the air they were using more people this week and at the time not much was known as far as who these extra people were.

As the night went on and into this morning more information had come out regarding these people being brought to the Performance Center for Monday’s tapings. It was started by a few people that they were told to not bring masks to the tapings as they did not want anyone in the crowd to be seen wearing a mask. WWE also stated in a released statement that they kept the “friends and family” who were used Monday away from the talent and production staff yet we saw The Street Profits dancing in the crowd during their entrance, as well as high giving crowd members.

We have spoken to one person who was at Monday’s tapings at the WWE Performance Center. They were contacted Monday morning about being there and they basically insinuated that everything seemed somewhat relaxed. Upon arriving at the PC, they had their temperature taken and given a waiver to sign. On the waiver, they had to check two boxes before being let in. One stating they do not currently have the virus and one stating they have not been in contact with anyone who has contracted the virus themselves. We were told that no one brought into the PC was just “random fans” and outside of those who they have been using the last few weeks, they were either unsigned local talent or friends and family.

As far as the story of “don’t bring a mask or you won’t be allowed in,” the person we spoke with said they were just told, “no mask” by on person in the company but they were not pressed to not wear a mask. This person was not told specifically not to come if they felt they should wear a mask.

During Monday’s tapings themselves, WWE filmed one episode of Monday Night RAW, one episode of Friday Night Smackdown, and an episode of Main Event. During the tapings, we were told that they had numbers on the floor that each person was told to stand on while everything was going one. Between matches, they were given breaks and allowed to mingle with others in the crowd and it did not seem like anyone was being strict with how far everyone had to stand apart from one another. It was said that people were “definitely not six feet apart.” It was also stated to us that the extras used in the crowd were allowed in catering as well, so again WWE stating there were kept separate from the talent and staff was not the case.

Last night as Monday Night RAW was going off the air, WWE released a statement revealing that a developmental talent who was last at the Performance Center on June 9th had tested positive for COVID-19. The company did not inform talent about this before the statement went out and the person we spoke with said they had no clue that this was a thing and insinuated that no one they were around on Monday would have known either while at the PC.
