Daniel Bryan’s Contract With WWE Has Reportedly Expired

The leader of the Yes Movement is not currently signed to WWE.

This past Friday on Smackdown we saw Roman Reigns defend the Universal Championship against Daniel Bryan. With Reigns defeating Bryan, Bryan had to leave the Smackdown brand with the defeat. Then it was noticed that not long after the match Bryan was moved to the alumni section of WWE.com. Many felt maybe this was just a work and it reportedly is not.

According to a new report from Fightful, they do report that Daniel Bryan’s contract with WWE actually expired after this week’s Friday Night Smackdown and the Universal Title match with Reigns. The report goes on to state that high-level sources both in and out of WWE have heard of Bryan’s contract expiration, yet Bryan himself has not talked openly about his contract status. It sounds like if Bryan has exited the company with letting his contract expire he did so privately.

The report also states that even though Bryan’s contract with WWE has expired, that does not mean he is completely done with the company. Bryan could have re-signed with the company over the weekend and could also work without a contract possibly during negotiation on a new one.

On a side note for those who may ask, if Bryan does not remain in any form with WWE he is free to go wherever he wants as soon as possible. With Bryan letting his contract expire and not being released by the company, that means there is no 90-Day no-compete clause that Bryan would have to abide by.

If we do hear anything further regarding the contract status of Daniel Bryan and what this means for his future in or even outside of WWE, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
