Cody To Possibly Be Kept Off TV For A While

AEW really wants to sell Cody’s injuries from last week.

Last week, Cody was unsuccessful in defending the TNT Championship against Mr. Brodie Lee. In the match, Cody started off a house of fire but that only lasted for about 8 seconds. After that Cody was squashed and never again got a single offensive move on Lee. After the match, Cody was beaten down by Lee and it looks like this may have been done to write Cody off TV for a while.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Johnson reports that the expectation is for Cody to be off TV for an extended period of time. This may be so Cody can go film the new STARZ show Heels that just started production with Stephen Amell (Arrow). When Amell announced the project he was not shy about saying he wanted Cody to be involved in the show in some way.

It was announced this week the alongside Amell, Mary McCormack (In Plain Sight) will be staring in the show that is set to film soon in Georgia.

AEW has stated that Thursday on Dynamite they will have some sort of an update on Cody after he had to be stretchered out after his beat down at the hands of Brodie Lee and The Dark Order.
