Championship Match & The End Of A Rivalry Announced For Smackdown

WWE has announced two matches for tonight’s Smackdown.

Smackdown comes to us in less than an hour on FOX and WWE has finally announced the first stuff for tonight’s show. WWE has announced a championship match and the final chapter of a storyline that has gone almost a full year.

First of WWE has announced that tonight Rey Mysterio will go one-on-one with Seth Rollins. WWE states that both men have agreed that this match will be the final chapter in their highly personal rivalry. These two have been feuding off and on since last December.

Since traveling to the blue brand in the 2020 WWE Draft, The SmackDown Savior has continued to instigate the family turmoil centered around the relationship between Rey’s daughter Aalyah and Murphy. But after Rollins’ lost disciple Murphy seemingly realigned with The Architect by helping him defeat Otis last week, what role might Murphy and the Mysterio family play in their showdown?

WWE also announced that Sami Zayn will defend the Intercontinental Championship tonight against Apollo Crews. If Crews wins tonight he will then face Bobby Lashley at Survivor Series.

Just nine days before going head to head against United States Champion Bobby Lashley of The Hurt Business at Survivor Series, Intercontinental Champion Sami Zayn will put his title on the line tonight against Apollo Crews.

For weeks, Zayn has insistently proclaimed that the Intercontinental Championship is superior to the U.S. Title. But will Crews defeat him for the championship and go on to face Lashley at WWE’s Fall Classic?
