BREAKING NEWS: WWE Champion Drew McIntyre Tests Positive For COVID-19

January 11, 2021 0 By Tim Jarrell

The WWE Champion has COVID.

Right now is that start of WrestleMania season with the Royal Rumble coming to us at the end of the month. The plan on the RAW side of things looked like Drew McIntyre defending the WWE Championship against Bill Goldberg, yet that is now in question.

This morning at 1pm ET/11am PT, WWE posted on their website that Drew McIntyre has tested positive for COVID-19. They state that he has been placed in quarantine and give no other information past that.

Drew McIntyre was slated to be taking on Randy Orton tonight on Monday Night RAW and now it looks like that match is off. As far as what this means for McIntyre and Goldberg, that is something they may have to take day-by-day. If McIntyre quarantines for two weeks and then tests negative, the match could take place. The issue is that will be cutting it close as we are less than three weeks till the January 31st event. We hope McIntryre has a speedy recovery and can be cleared in time for the Royal Rumble.

If we do hear anything further on WWE Champion Drew McIntyre testing Positive for COVID-19, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
