BREAKING NEWS: Vince McMahon Announces He Has Retired
July 22, 2022Vince McMahon has stepped away from WWE.
Today some of the biggest news to come in professional wrestling dropped at just past 1 0’clock pm PT as Vince McMahon announced his retirement at the age of 77. Six months ago if you said Vince was going to retire this year you would have been laughed at. Yet over the last few months, this became more and more expected.
Vince McMahon sent out a tweet just saying at the game of 77 it is time for him to retire.
At 77, time for me to retire.

This comes after two stories from the Wall Street Journal that Vince McMahon had paid off a number of women who he was sexually involved with. The first story came out regarding a relationship he was in for a few years that ended earlier this year with him getting the women to sign an NDA for $3 million. Then another story came out talking about more NDAs Vince McMahon had signed including one with a former female talent that he paid over $7 million to keep quiet.
With Vince McMahon stepping away this now opens up the question of who takes over for him. Is Stephanie McMahon now the actual CEO and Chairwomen or is she still considered “interim”? The other question is who will take over as head of creative running the shows every week.
