BREAKING NEWS: Title Change Takes Place On NXT

Tonight a new champion emerged.

On tonight’s NXT we say title matches bookended the show. The show opened with the NXT Title match that saw Adam Cole defend against Finn Balor. In the main event, the NXT Women’s Champion Shayna Baszler defended against Rhea Ripley. Cole was successful in retaining his title, but Baszler was not as lucky.

In the main event tonight the match started off a little slow but got the crowd into it halfway through and really took off from there. At one point Jessamyn Duke and Marina Shafir came down to help Baszler but Ripley took them out. They even teased the match ending by stoppage after Baszler stomped Ripley’s arm on the steps, but she would not give up.

The finish saw both women fighting on the top rope. Ripley then gave Baszler a big headbutt and hit her with a Ripetide from the middle rope to pick up the victory. After the match members of the NXT roster and fans in Full Sail filled the ring and hoisted the new champion up in celebration.

Congratulations to Rhea Ripley as she is now the first woman to have won both the NXT and NXT UK Women’s Championships.
