BREAKING NEWS: Major NXT Star’s Contract Set To Expire After SummerSlam/TakeOver Weekend

One top NXT star is about to have options.

We have seen a lot of NXT Superstars get moved from NXt to the main roster recently. There was one name we heard that was earmarked for RAW or Smackdown and then it never happened. Yet that may no longer be the case due to their contract about to expire.

According to a new report from Raj Giri of Wrestling Inc., Giri reports that former NXT Champion Adam Cole is set to become a free agent at the end of the month. Giri reports that Cole’s contract was actually up around the time of the Great American Bash, but Cole actually agreed to extend the contract.

We were told that Cole agreed to extend the contract to finish out and have a full program with Kyle O’Reilly. It was said to us that after TakeOver Cole will take time weighing his option. Options that he will have in a multitude of different directions.

One interesting thing to look at though is that WWE has a current trademark on the name “Adam Cole” that was filed back on September 4th, 2018 with a registration date of August 4th, 2020. If WWE does in fact now own the name, it looks like Austin Jenkens will need to find a new name to go by. He has been Adam Cole since he made his CZW debut on June 21st, 2008.

If we do hear anything else on this story and what could be next for Adam Cole, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
