Backstage News On WWE’s New Directive For Hiring Referees

WWE has a new ref requirement.

We have heard all of the different stories coming out of WWE about requirements to hire someone for a specific role. The most popular one is that backstage interviewers have to be shorter in stature to make the wrestlers look bigger. We have also heard the rumors and seems the images of WWE telling their interviewers to squat down or spread their legs to look shorter when interviewing a wrestler closer to their heights. Now WWE has this directive when it comes to referees.

According to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer, Meltzer reports that there is a new directive to hire shorter referees. The report says they want shorter referees to make the competitors in the ring appear larger than they actually are.

When looking at the current referees in WWE right now on the main roster, it seems like most if not all are under six feet tall. Senior referee Charles Robinson has been billed at five foot six. Female referee Jessika Carr has been billed at five foot eight and Jason Ayers has been billed at five foot nine.

If we do hear anything else on this new referee directive, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
