Omega may be getting a match he has wanted for months.

Kenny Omega will always be known for his big matches in New Japan, most notably with Okada, but another big part of his career has come from working with the Japanese women. This past year Omega worked a few matches in Japan teaming with AEW Women’s Champion Riho. In a recent video, Omega told that Young Bucks that a goal of his is to have a mixed tag team match in AEW. The video then ended with them saying they are the bookers so just book it. Today, that match was teased.

Today on Being The Elite, there was a segment on the show where you see Omega backstage with Riho. Kip Sabian and Penelope Ford then walk up and start talking about how they are the best intergender team in wrestling. Sabian said he heard what Omega said about wanting a mixed match and would not be able to touch him and Ford as a team. They then ended the segment with Ford calling Riho a bitch. You can see the segment in the video below.

It is unclear when that match will happen, the match can’t happen this week in Southaven as Riho has a title defense of her AEW Women’s World Championship. With the match being teased this week, one would assume the match has to be coming soon.
