AEW has possibly signed a true up and coming star.

Since July we have seen Brian Pillman Jr working for All Elite Wrestling. It was stated that he was working on a pre-date deal and was not signed to a full-time deal to the company. Yet, he has done something that has people thinking he has signed with AEW.

It looks like Pillman Jr may be done with Ohio Valley Wrestling as it was announced that Pillman has vacated the OWV World Championship due to AEW Obligations. OVW released the following statement on the subject at hand.

“OVW Heavyweight Champion Brian Pillman Jr, effectively immediately, will be vacating his OVW Heavyweight Championship. Because of his growing relationship with AEW (All Elite Wrestling) his obligations have grown to a point where he cannot maintain the responsibilities attached to the OVW Heavyweight Championship. While we at OVW are sad to see him go, we are also very happy for Brian Pillman Jr on his continued success with AEW and wish him nothing but the best.

“We’ve been really proud to have Brian as our OVW Heavyweight Champion, even if it wasn’t as lengthy of a reign as expected. His talent really made everyone on the roster elevate their game and for that I am very grateful. I really think Brian is going to continue to shine in AEW and make all of us, and more importantly, his father proud,” said OVW Owner Al Snow.

To crown a new champion, it has been decided that the winner of the 2021 Nightmare Rumble (on January 9th) will be the new OVW Heavyweight Champion. Furthermore, the winner of the rumble will also face Mr. Pectacular Jesse Godderz for the OVW National Championship later that night!”

Also Back in November Pillman lost a match for the MLW Middleweight Championship and has not worked for them since. Yet it has been stated in the past that Pillman is signed to MLW till July of 2021.

Now with him dropping the belt, that has started up the rumors that he may have had to do so because he may have been signed to AEW. It has not been announced that he has signed with AEW but again, based on what has happened this is leading to the wide speculation that Pillman may have signed full-time with All Elite Wrestling.

In AEW recently Pillman has had his spot elevated in the company after he was placed in an official tag team with Griff Garrison as the Varsity Blondes. That also furthers the speculation of Pillman signing with the company.
