AEW Name Removed From The Roster
March 7, 2024A newer addition to the roster is no longer listed.
Over the last year or so AEW has added a number of new people to their roster from the in-ring side to the broadcast side of things. Since last year they have added a few new announcers to their show and one of those newer members of the commentary team seems to be no more with the company.
Today it was noticed on the AEW website that Kevin Kelly is no longer listed as part of the AEW broadcast team. It is unclear why Kelly has been removed yet it could be due to a number of things. We know from the time Kelly was hired by the company to the end of last year his role on the team had been changed. Initially, he was hired to be the lead commentator for AEW Collision on Saturday nights. Yet after Tony Schiavone went to AEW President Tony Khan about wanting that role a change was made and Kelly was essentially made the third man at the desk.
Kelly himself about a week ago now somewhat aired his grievances with how he is being used after a fan on social media praised Kelly for being someone who always tells the viewer why a specific match is taking place.
I do the same thing in AEW because it’s critical to explain the why https://t.co/L6lLjnUvyn

But the idea of what I bring to the table is lost there because Ian libeled me. So I sit on the bench, valued by my peers, waiting to get my number called.

I keep asking why but get pushed aside. It’s ok because there is no one better than me. Ask the ones that know and they’ll tell you.

Now there is an unconfirmed rumor that has been going around today with some thinking Kelly has been let go by the company. Yet again that has not been confirmed so take it how you may. If we do hear anything further on Kevin Kelly’s status with AEW, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
