WWE Reportedly Forcing Talent To Sing New Contracts Giving WWE Control Of 3rd Party Streams, Twitch Streaming An Obligation
October 2, 2020WWE now trying to change contracts to take over third-party revenue streams.
Over the last month, we have heard the news of WWE trying to either get talent to stop making money with third-party ventures or the company taking control of those revenue streams. The deadline for talent to give up those ventures was supposed to be today and now it looks like WWE is trying to get it in writing that they will have control of third-party revenue streams like Twitch and Cameo.
First off, former Presidential candidate Andrew Yang sent out a tweet that he had been told by talent that WWE was “forcing” them to sign new contracts that not only give WWE control of their Twitch Channels but also making streaming on Twitch an obligation and part of their jobs.
Hearing from talent that WWE is forcing performers to sign new contracts that include twitch. Streaming on twitch will become a work obligation and if talent doesnβt stream they will forego earnings, be suspended or face penalties. Doesnβt sound like independent contractors.

With this, Wrestling Inc is reporting that pertaining to Cameo WWE has in the new deals that talent will turn over those accounts are also part of these new contracts. In the contract, the deal will be that WWE will represent the talent on Cameo and all revenue will go through WWE. They will then pay out the talent a percentage. This part of the new deal can be cut at any time by the talent deleting their Cameo account altogether.
