Is The Rattlesnake getting back in the ring?

Coming up on April 2nd and 3rd is WrestleMania 38 from Dallas, Texas. So far only two matches have been officially announced for the show with other matches being considered by not yet announced. Yet tonight word got out that they are looking to get “Stone Cole” Steve Austin to wrestle a match and the show of shows in Texas.

First reported by Fightful, they reported that WWE has made “overtures” to try and get Austin to work a match this year at WrestleMania. The Fightful report originally stated that they had not heard of an opponent for Austin and that at the least wanted him to do something physical at the same.

Dave Meltzer would go on to report that there is an opponent that has been discussed for Austin. Meltzer reported that WWE has discussed Austin facing Kevin Owens at WrestleMania. Last week on RAW, Adam Pearce and Sonya Deville questioned if Owens would even have a match at WrestleMania. Owens would then go on to state that Texas loves him and it would be a crime to keep him off the card. Then tonight he would cut a promo talking bad about Dallas and the entire state of Texas.

Owens being the opponent for Austin works on a number of levels. That keeps having him bring up the state of Texas. we could get stunner versus stunner and Owens is someone you can trust to work a safe match for Austin. If you remember, the last time Vince McMahon got physical on television was when he told Kevin Owens to headbutt him in the ring. It was stated later that Vince wanted to do it with Owens as he trusted Owens to do it safely.

If Austin agrees to do the match it would be his first match in 19 years as the last match was against The Rock at WrestleMania 19 in 2003. If we do hear anything on Austin possibly working a match this year at WrestleMania, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
