WWE Planning More Stadium Shows Moving Forward In 2023
April 27, 2022Nick Khan has some ambitious goals for WWE next year.
In 2022 we will see WWE run eight premium live events in a stadium. We have Royal Rumble, WrestleMania (2 nights), Money In The Bank, SummerSlam, the Wales show, and both shows in Saudi Arabia. Now it seems as if WWE President Nick Khan could want more next year.
According to Andrew Zarian of the MatMen Podcast, Zarian reports that WWE intends to run more stadium shows moving forward in 2023. He stated that the goal is to make this the new norm and it is a Nick Khan approach to premium live events. Zarian also noted how the feeling is that the shows do not need to be sell-outs of 50,000+ fans, but having between 20,000 to 35,000 fans attended shows could lead to much higher revenue and higher levels of excitement.
The scalability of large stadiums is very beneficial when it comes to having live attendance over 15k.
The event doesn't have to be a sell-out of 50k+ but now you have room to do 20-35k shows more often leading to much higher revenue & higher level of excitement for the event.

Zarian also quickly mentioned this Tuesday on the We’re Live Pal podcast stating how WWE would see selling at least 25,000 tickets in a stadium as a success. He also mentioned how coming out of the pandemic, not as many acts are booking stadiums. Thus stadium owners and now having to look themselves for acts to run with their sports teams are not occupying the vence. Hence if the demand is not there to try and book the building before someone else snatches up the same date, that could mean WWE could rent the building at a better price than pre-pandemic when big stadiums were more in demand.
With this new mindset, could we actually see something down the line where WWE runs at least one stadium show a months going forward?
If we do hear anything else on WWE want to run even more stadium shows in 2023, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
