WWE Files Lawsuit Against US Citizenship and Immigration Services
January 28, 2021WWE has filed a pretty substantial lawsuit.
First reported by PWInsider, WWE has filed a lawsuit against the United States Citizenship and Immigration Services. The lawsuit itself was filed back on January 26 in the United States District Court of Connecticut. As of right now because the court documents are sealed to the public not much is known.
WWE is being represented by Immigration attorney Martine G. Cuomo who filed the lawsuit on behalf of WWE. Cuomo is a partner at Fragomen, Del Rey, Bernsen & Loewy in Westport, Connecticut. They are the world’s largest firm dedicated to corporate immigration and considered the global leader in cases of this nature.
We have also learned that an electronic summons was issued on the 27th of January to U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services with answers required within 60 days. This means amended pleadings need to be filed by March 27 with discovery completed by July 8 and dispositive motions due by September 1.
If you are unaware of what the US Citizenship and Immigration Services are, they are defined as
U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS) is the federal agency that oversees lawful immigration into the United States. Some of the services they provide include citizenship, immigration of family members, working in the U.S., humanitarian programs, and adoptions.
With that knowledge, one would believe this may have to do about legally having a talent that is not a US citizen remain here in the UNited States to work for the company. The is only an assumption and not 100% known.
If we do hear anything else regarding this lawsuit filed by WWE, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
