WWE Confirms Payback Pay-Per-View, First Match Announced
August 14, 2020The rumored Payback event has been announced by WWE.
for the last month or two, an event on August 30 by WWE has been rumored. Over the last week or so it was reported that this event at the end of August would be Payback but WWE has not said anything about it. That is until tonight.
Tonight on Friday Night Smackdown Sasha Banks and Bayley announced the Payback event. They announced that on that show they will be defending the Women’s Tag Team Championships. No opponents were named at this time.

Then a little while later during the triple brand battle royal, Michael Cole confirmed that the Payback event will be coming to us one week after SummerSlam.
Speaking of Michael Cole, Cole did also say that next week’s Smackdown will not be coming to us from the WWE Performance Center. Yet Cole did not state that it would be coming to us from the Amway Center in Orlando.
