WWE Calling Back To The 90s For September PLE Name… Maybe
August 17, 2025WWE may be in store for a Wrestlepalooza.
Last week, a rumor surfaced that WWE is looking to run a PLE on September 20th from Indianapolis, Indiana. If this comes to fruition, it would run the same day, and potentially head-to-head with AEW All Out in Toronto. As far as what this show could be called, it looks like WWE could be calling back to ECW for that.
Over the last week, a few different names have been thrown around for the September 20th PLE. Bad Blood, since they ran one last year and have not announced one this year. Fastlane, since the last time that name was used was for a PLE in Indianapolis in 2023. Then, a really fake rumor surfaced with the Over the Limit name. Now, WrestleVotes is teasing that the name could be Wrestlepalooza.
September 20th, it’s a “Wrestlepalooza”…

The name Wrestlepalooza is an old ECW PPV name. ECW used the name in 1995, 1997, 1998, and 2000. The only issue WWE could have with using the name is that they do not own the trademark to the name. The trademark is actually owned by F1RST Wrestling who first filed for it back in 2016. In December of 2021, the United States Patent & Trademark Office audited the trademark, asking them to prove use of the name. All was cleared up by August of 2022.
If we do hear anything further on WWE potentially using the Wrestlepalooza name, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
