WWE bringing back just a name.

Going all the way back to 1985 WWE was running a Saturday night show called ‘Saturday Night’s Main Event’ that would air on NBC. The first run of the program ran 31 shows over an eight-year period. The show then came back from 2006 to 2008 with seven more shows. Now it is coming back but really it’s just the name.

WWE’s ticket calendar on their website now has two shows listed as ‘Saturday Night’s Main Event’ in late April. They have one show on April 23 in Montgomery, Alabama. The second show is one week later n April 30 from Lakeland, Florida.

According to Mike Johnson of PWInsider, Johnson reports that these shows are to be set up as a TV product but just the name for Saturday night live event going forward after WrestleMania. WWE is rebranding what they call live events on Saturdays and that is all.

As far as the events themselves, right now they are listed as RAW brand events with only RAW superstars advertised for the show. If we do hear anything else on why WWE is re-branding their live events, we will have it here and on the PWUnlimited YouTube Channel.
