William Regal Announces Interim Tournament For NXT Championship
April 8, 2020A new champion will be crowned in NXT, for now.
With the global pandemic going around and the travel ban put in place by the President of the United States, so WWE superstars who live in other countries can not travel to the United States. With that, NXT now how to crown an interim Cruiserweight Champion.
Wednesday morning on WWE’s The Bump, NXT General Manager William Regal stated that at this time NXT Cruiserweight Champion Jordan Devlin is still in Ireland and in the meantime, an interim champion will need to be crowned. Regal stated that this will be done by holding a Cruiserweight tournament. He did not state who is in the tournament or when it will start. Regal stated that more information will come over the next few days.

Regal was also asked about the status of the NXT Tag Team Championships. With one half of the champion Pete Dunne in the United Kingdom, Regal said he hopes to have info on that in the next week.
