Wedding Officiant Attacked By Security On RAW, Comments On Incident

Last night security thought a fan jumped into the ring.

Last night on RAW AJ Styles defeated Akira Tozawa and then as AJ was leaving something odd took place in the ring. The cameras quickly cut from AJ walking to the back and a scuffle taking place in the ring. After a few seconds of focusing on the incident, the camera cut to the crowd and then they went to commercial. It looked as if security may have thought a fan was attempting to jump into the ring and they were trying to stop him.

In a weird turn of events, this was not a fan at all but instead the wedding officiant for the Bobby Lashley and Lana wedding who was on the show again this week. You can see from a video taken at ringside by a fan that as he is being stopped, what looks to be a WWE producer runs down the get security off of him.

Rick Malone, the New York-based actor who played the officiant commented on his Facebook about the situation stating,

This is what happened tonight at WWE/RAW: I needed to get into the ring in order to consummate the “Bobby Lashley and Lana Wedding” (which was totally disrupted last Monday night in Hartford CT), but security prevented me, so I had no other choice but to dive into the ring headfirst. Security was not pleased! But the married couple was very happy! 

It is unclear exactly why this happened and what makes it even odder is that they mentioned on commentary that security tried stopping him from getting into the ring.
